Grade 6 Flash Animation Roundup
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: OUT OF THIS WORLD

What better way to launch my blogging than to share with you some of the animated spaceships authored and published our grade six students as part of their Space Science Fair project.

This assignment complimented our multimedia powerpoint presentations, perfectly. We started our two class 'animation workshop' with a lesson on the the history, techniques, and principles of animation (the art of bringing 'life' or motion to drawings). Flip Book and Cell animation were illustrated and discussed. This led us to try learning about and implementing sprite animation.

What is Sprite animation? It's a simple animation that's integrated into a larger scene. Learning about the computer animator's environment and creating our spaceship sprite rounded out the first lesson. In our second lesson, we used created our scene used motion tween animation to complete the illusion of motion.

>>Take a look at the results...they're 'out of this world'!<<
